Hi, ok I am uninstalling programs that I never use, trying to clean up my laptop, and although i wasn't doing it to clear up disc space initially, I did check and the space remaining seemed to be getting less and less. I thought that if I uninstalled items it would free up disc space (not much I know but surely not give me less space). I am checking out the other threads on tips to clean up my system (windows vista), just wondered if this is normal? Hope this is the correct place to ask. Thanks.
Probably there are system restore points being created when you delete the programs you want to remove. Removing all but the latest restore point should free up disk space. BUT having removed restore points means you won't be able to go back in time to those points! "Choose wisely".
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I have little or no idea or what that means lol. I think I will have to look into this a bit more. Thanks again. :)

Ok, just say your computer was running fine. At this point you would create a start point which is a common feature of MS operation systems. Now let's say you download and install some program that messes up your computer. If you were'nt able to uninstall the program, you would then start up the restore program and go back to the "start point" that you created before installing the bad program.

Thanks Hrdrk20 for explaining that. I see what you mean, that makes sense. :)
