according to the news from the nintendo official site, the 3ds firmware has been updated to V7.1.0-15 today.

looks like it is not a big update to flashcarts, currently have tested a few cards such as r4i gold 3ds, supercard dstwo, they can still work on this new 3ds firmware without update.

currently the r4i gold 3ds is working great on the latest 3ds V7.1.0-15, check the info here http://www.dsflashcart.com/r4i-gold-3ds...-3ds-p-248.html

here is the change log of 3ds V7.1.0-15

Added support for Nintendo Network ID

Users can now create a Nintendo Network ID on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. Users may either create a new ID or register the same ID they have created for their Wii U system.

Using the same ID on both the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U systems will allow users to combine their Nintendo eShop balances and Wish Lists. A Nintendo Network ID will now be required to download free content, including game demos, from Nintendo eShop.

it looks like a tiny update, from my experience, the card I have is from http://www.r4flashcart.com/8-wood-r4i-g...nd-ds-lite.html and they put out kernel updates constantly, meaning that when everybody else is forced to wait a long time for a fix, your r4i gold card will be back up in a few days or bypass the update directly.

I've tested about 5 different flashcard with the new 7.1.0 ver. update for the 3DS, and so far, all of them have worked without any issues. Also, if the R4 3DS or R4i Gold 3DS card you have is or WAS working on the 7.0.0 system version, then it should work on the 7.1.0 without even needing any updated firmware for the r4 at all. The cards I can confirm working are
