Hi! I'm hoping someone has a suggestion.
I have an r4 card with an sd card loaded with games (sorry if I'm using any wrong terms - first experience with these) that someone gave me. This person knows what they are doing (supposedly), and made sure it was the right card for my console, etc etc.
Anyway, I cannot even get it to read. When I insert the card in the dslite, it says "no card inserted".
At this point, I have tried two different R4 cards, two different loaded SD cards, and all combinations of these cards (in case one R4 was defective, or one SD). They can't all be defective, right?
I am also trying these in THREE DSs, and all three give the same message of "no card inserted." One is a brand new one I just bought, and the other 2 are less than a year old. All are DS lites, and all play regular game cartridges without a single problem.
I find it hard to imagine I'd have three defective DSs (or that all three would have contact issues), esp with one being brand new. And I find it hard to believe that 2 R4 cards AND 2 sd cards would all be defective.
Does anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks so much!

Sorry if this is a dumb question ... but what is firmware? These are ds lites, not dsi's if that matters.
And thanks for taking the time to answer/help! I appreciate it.

So I just did a quick search (I don't have my ds in front of me) and it appears most ds lites are version 5 firmware? Does that help at all?
