Backup DS Lite Question

I am totally new to this DS Lite thing. My 4 year old loves her DS but I am struggling to work out why some games load and some don't.

Currently have a M3 DS Simply which came a bundle of DS games that play fine.

I get a few off my friend which also end in .NDS and i get nothing but a white screen.

I've used Moonshell to be installed but I'm just baffled why they don't load.

I need to stick to XBOX backups and their easier!!

Any help is much appreciated.
