DS Lite top screen only work at certain angle

My daughter dropped her DS Lite that broke off a piece of the right hinge. The top screen still works but only at a certain angle. I'd like try repair it, but do I need to replace the whole case? How about the ribbon cable between the two screens?

Fractured ribbon cable. On NDSL the cable is part of the topscreen, so you're looking at a whole top screen replacement.

This will only get worse, not better. Soon you will have no top screen video at all, then the NDSL won't even light up.
