I am looking to purchase my 5-year old a Nintendo DS as a birthday gift. I'm just not sure which one to choose - the DSL or the Dsi. I know the camera would be used on the Dsi, but that's probably about it - other than playing games of course.... please share your thoughts on which one to get.

DSi has the camera, downloadable games and a built in web browser. DS lite has better battery life and can play GBA games.

Your choice which is better.

I think since you are getting it for a 5 year old kid, a dsi would be more enjoyable. This is mostly because of the camera feature. Just be prepared to get embarrassing pics of you taken.
