I'm trying to buy a card that I can use on either a DSi or a DSXL. I have read in many places on this forum to stay away from R4s but they are the only ones I've seen claim to work for the XL? Does anyone know if the AceKard 2i will work? Also, if anyone could suggest a site for quick delivery (I'm in central US right now), I would appreciate it. Any additional advice you might give to a new user would be appreciated, thanks.
Also, if anyone has any opinion on the DS lite/DSi vs the new DS XL, I'm all ears. I need a card that can play on a DSi so I can decide whether I want to make the investment in a system for myself but I think I would really appreciate the additional screen size of the XL. Again, any opinions would be appreciated.
Update: I've been reading more and it seems that, as long as I can get a DS XL with version 1.4 firmware then I should be good for the AceKard. But then that led me to think - why would you update the firmware? Does having an obsolete version prevent you from playing online?

The acekard2i works with th XL. It's nice to get the bigger screen. I got my card from consolesource.com.
acekard 2i with akaio 1.6R2 firmware and dsi over XL for battery life im using dsi 16gb micro sd card with acekard 2i with akaio 1.6R2 firmware no problems
1) ds lite excellent battery life and with and expansion card for slot 1 can play GBA games, cannot play dsi enhanced games.
Cheap and great battery life.
2) DSI plays the new dsi enhanced games, dsi shop, camera that uploads to facebook, basic web browsing, sd card slot in side of unit for photo storage.
dearer than ds lite shorter battery life
(both above work with acekard 2i
3)DS XL same as dsi a few more apps you suffer a-lot with battery life especially using flash carts. 2 big lcd screens that eat up the battery life
dearest of them all
i had a lite, when stuff came out ofr dsi got one and kept lite, no intention of buying XL, will ned to check out 3D to see if its practical or a 5 minute wonder.
firmware update of cart lets you play newer games etc, ds firmware update brings new apps etc (lite/Phat not included)
