can someone show me a step by step guide how to back up games and what do I need to do this a link is fine for me thanks

You need two things:

1) A flashcart (CycloDS or M3Real for DS/DS lite. Acekard 2i, M3iZero or supercard DStwo for a DSi)

2) A microSD card. Any size is fine, but bigger is obviously better. And go for class 6 or higher speed.

Download the appropriate firmware for your flashcart and put it on the microSD, along with your game roms. It is possible to create roms from the original game cartridges, but it is much easier and quicker to just download them.

Once you have all that, pop the flashcart into your DS and play your games.
