I have been backing up nds roms for a few months now on xp sp2 using the smallftpd method on this thread http://www.monroeworld.com/myfaq/index.p...=en&cat=7&id=85
but i have recently installed windows 7 on my pc and i cannot get the nds to connect to the smallftpd. I noticed that windows 7 has an ftp server you can set up through internet information services http://www.blogcatalog.com/blog/programm...3481905e38ab5f1 but i have tried this also and still cannot get my nds to connect to my pc to send the backed up rom. Does anybody know how to back up an nds rom on windows 7? Could you please give me a step by step guide if you do, thanks.

First of all make sure your nds is set to run through your wireless router. You have to use a game to do this if it is a ds lite or if it is a dsi you can do this through the dsi itself without a game. You need to scan for an access point and connect the ds to your router. To get small ftp to run you have to right click and run as administrator or turn off the uac. You can turn off the uac with these methods http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/12/30...c-in-windows-7/

I used this method to back up nds roms, easy guide i found on the internet. Just make sure you disable your firewall before doing these steps and then enable it again once you have the smallftp running and allow access on your firewall. Also the step about obtaining the ip address make sure it is your pc ip address, you can obtain this by clicking windows logo on the bottom left of your pc screen and typing cmd in search programs box then click it above to open up command prompt then type ipconfig and the ip you are looking for is ipv4. Also use the default port 21 on this method it worked easier, just follow the steps in this guide and it should work fine

You can get the nds wifi backup tool here http://www.ds-scene.net/?s=download#middle the small ftp you can get from the first site.
Hope this helps mate, any problems give me a shout i will help you further

Well, I did managed to get the ds connected with through my router. Used advanced war2 to get all the settings with the wi-fi profil. And also turned off the uac so the small ftp worked. The firewall/s have been turned off and still it won't connect.

I'm little confused about the versions of the backup tool. Cause there are rather many but I have tried with NDS Backup Tool Wi-Fi 0.31C. Maybe it's wrong version? Or can it be my flash card? I have Acekard2 if that says anything.

Also I have followed step by step of the guide and I tried both 8080 and the default, 21. I checked my ip address a xxx times so I'm pretty sure that it's the right one.

What do you think I missed? Cause I really don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks for the help so far!!!

the backup tool is the same version i use so nothing wrong there. When you turn your ds on and use the wifi backup tool from the flash card does it have all the right info on the screen ip address, port num,and username etc.The reason am asking is cause i tried this with a previous card the m3 and it did not work it kept showing me the default info not the info i entered

I don't know. Cause when I start up the backup tool on flash card and it's starting to access the wifi it shows following message: "Can't connect the access point of wifi and bla bla" I guess you know what it says. And it then it turns off the ds. But the I changed the .ini file to match the small ftp.

I had this to start with on windows 7 but i did get it to connect eventually. See when u get the red message saying cant connect with ftp server check the ds screen above does it have all the right data on it ip address user name etc.See even if it doesn't connect it still has all the info on the screen above ip address etc that comes from the ini file it is reading

I managed to get it work, Finally *sigh* the meny in the backup program was kinda confusing so I ended up deleting my save file of ''The world ends with you'' less fun cause I was at the end of the game. But at least I got it work. But it takes some tries to get the backup to "backup". The first 3-4 times it only said transfer failed but like I said I got it to backup so let's see if it goes all the way.

Thanks for all the help, man. I appreciate it alot, thanks once again.

I have tried endlessly to get the wifi backup tool to work but when i run it it tells me it cannot connect to access point. Could the problem be my router? When i run a connection test from my ds my isp (sky)is not shown. However btopenzone and btfon are but are weak. So do i need a different router???????

By the way the handle shoul read barfkoswil not barfkoswi but it wont fit.
