Need help getting R4 to work

it will not read at all on my DS, just goes to the main menu as if nothing is there
but loads on other DS's (tested on my friends)
their R4s read on mine

but it reads on other DS's tho. R4 using a 2gig micro sd Transcend if that helps

well i was just curious, have you tried cleaning the contacts? useing compressed air in slot1? i know my cyclo ds worked all of the time, but when i would put in one of my original games it wouldn't read, that would fix it...

yep i have, i tried playing a regular DS game and it worked, the r4 just wont
I copied every folder annd all that stuff off my friends and put it on mine. Is there anything im suppose to do to my DS? If someone could print screen their r4 folder that might help...

i've never had an R4, and i plan that i never will.. so when you go to the ds menu slot1,pictochat,ds download,slot2.
it shows up in the menu"slot1"? if it does then it's a software problem, you need to go to the manufacturers website and download the correct firmware, there are load's upon loads Hoards of clones out there, you probably have a different clone...

like i have said, i have never owned an R4 or any of it's clones i have a Games n Music, Cyclo DS evolution and an acekard 2i most recently, if you could maybe take a picture and upload it here i might be able to get you the firmware.. if you want a cyclods evo the cheapest is from deal extreme right here 46 dollars and 50 cents it's top o the line. may take a while to get "about 7 days" once they gather from there suppliers...
i have to go , i have to catch a flight tomorrow morning ill reply asap..

what's R4? There are many clones. you need to download the correct firmware. I bought r4i-sdhc at EarlyDepot. they have link to download.

It will load up - paper shim trick - this is soooo common, you need to push the R4 and the DS contacts closer together, put a thin piece of card or folded paper behind the card to push it closer to the contacts - it will then see it.

i went looking and i came across this page... never have i seen such blatant piracy in my life, but i do not own the product, so it really does not personally concern me... on the left side is the instruction's, i took a look at the file, i would venture to guess that you have to go one directory deep... just copy moonmemo,moonshl2,R4imenu and R4.Dat to the root of your sd card, it should work.. sorry it took so long to reply i've been sick lately...

i just downloaded the r4 english sdhc, is that what you meant?

you need to download "R4-i English v1.09b" under USA then open with something like 7z "which is what i use" and is the best according to sceners.org after you double click the first folder you will see moonmemo, moonshl2,R4Imenu, R4I.dat or something along those lines and it shout be extracted to the ROOT of your microsd card!
