North American games work on European DS?

I have a Nintendo DS which I got in Ireland a few years ago and am in Canada now. I am just wondering if I were to buy a DS game over here would it work on my DS I got in Ireland?? Are DS games region free or do they differ for each game??

Any help is much appreciated, thanks

Exactly yes, Nintendo DS is region free, allowing to play games purchased anywhere in the world.
