Ok so I got the usual problem... nds lite hinge breaks... time to change case.

Once I had changed the case (which was s!*#t btw, bought it from DealExtreme and it was cheap plastic crap, screws didn't even align properly...) and once I had finished I had two problems...

1) The lower screens refresh rate seems to have changed and now there is lines across the screen and the image has faded.
2) The right speaker crackles with the slightest of movement and sometimes makes some strange noises...

Have I stuffed these parts up? or is it just connection problems?

Thank you in advance for any help it is MAJORLY appreciated :)

The speaker crackle is probably the top screen cable, this is very difficult to get out and back into the new case without creasing it. The speakers are attacked to the top screen. Check the solder connections to the pads on the top screen as these have been poor before and caused noise. If not then the screen is the only other option.

You can check the screen connections however if they are poor then the DS does not usually start up.

Bottom screen (sorry) but it is most likely the screen as well, I have had this issue when I put the screen back in I pulled the cable a little and it went faded (sometimes I could tap the screen and move it and it would flicker back to normal.

Both screens are cheap at Deal extreme (and they are better than the cases) If you look to do it again the camoflaged case is the best one I have had from DX (the red/black and blue/black are the worst)

Yeah I thought as much... I had to be a tad rough with the ds because of the quality of the case I bought... and i was scared that I might have done something like that...

I'm thinking of buying the parts then taking it to a professional to fix, it won't cost as much if I don't buy the parts myself but I'll guess I have to see.

Thanks for your help man :) :)
