So, they just announced that the newest firmware was released for the r4 line of cards allowing them to play games on the newer firmwared 3ds.

Would the deluxe then, now play 3ds games off of these cartridges?

I have tried scouring for a simple answer to this question, but it seems as there aren't many.

currently r4i gold Deluxe Edition can only play 3ds games on V4.1 to V4.5 3ds firmware, hope this is the answer, check the card here http://www.dsflashcart.com/r4i-gold-3ds...-3ds-p-286.html

R4i Deluxe Edition and all the other 3ds flashcart(support 3ds roms) can only works on 3DS system 4.1~4.5. So if your 3ds system is 6.x.x or 7.1.0-16(the latest)You can not play.

nope, r4i gold 3ds deluxe card only works system version 4.1-4.5 only
