Just as an additional piece of info - if you find the card is still not functioning quite right - you may get an error message saying the file name is too long - just shorten all folder names right down and also within the folders you will need to shorten the name of the .nds file - this will resolve the problem on the card and the names will show up fully in the list together with a lovely little icon!! Hope this helps!

You should be able to copy over any games that end .nds
If you also copy over the software/firmware which is not compatable you will get an error. You will need to download the correct firmware for the card you have. what i always tend to do is copy over the firmware that is on the existing card and save it on my hard drive, its always there if i mess up or want to use it later.
The standard firmware for the r4dshc revolution is english1.18
Should be able to download it from here http://www.r4ds.cn/download/r4ds.html
If not this one others are available.Jim

So let me see if I gt this right, with a new stick and reader, you format stick, download this file, load onto card, load games and you are good to go, or is there something I am missing. Have tried this numerous times and keep getting the star wars thing when I click on the R4I card logo, then after that I get the menu error. And the site that was listed is where I am downloading from, taking forever and a day to download. Have 5 hours left on a 73 meg file, that aint right, capable of downloading 3 megs a min

I really do need help with this - I bought an R4 SDHC Upgrade Revolution from this site: http://www.r4i.co.uk/r4_zone
For some reason, the one I actually bought from there is no longer listed, which is slightly troubling. Mine is like the one in the red box, but black and for the DS lite.
All day today i've been downloading and trying different kernels but every single one of the brings up the red menu? screen. Anybody any ideas? I've tried the firmware mentioned on this site and from the actual site that the card was made: http://www.r4i-sdhc.com/downloade.asp But still nothing...
PLEASE HELP!!!

Was your box black with SDHC written in orange letters? I've formatted the memory card in FAT 32, dragged and dropped various different kernels (including 1.09 but still I get the red menu?
Is there a chance that you could send over the kernel that you use?

Here's what my box looked like pretty much ~ http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_jump.cfm/725065/4815614
My box states "http://www.R4I-SDHC.COM on the front" however here's the correct software page for my card ~ http://www.r4i.co.uk/r4 and the link to the software itself ~ http://software.r4i.co.uk/en/R4-R4i-English-V1.zip
edit- i just downloaded the software from that link and when you open up the zip file it states 1.14b for R4i, so your best bet is to contact the site and find out what they're up to as i don't know if you can use that software on a regular DS lite or if it's just for the r4i..
(i haven't got a memory card for my DS at the moment so i can't test that download for you).
edit- hang on, just looked on http://r4i-sdhc.com/downloade.asp and they do have 1.09b on there, i'm pretty sure that's one of the kernels i used before. Also check the first link i provided in this post, i got a kernel from there, can't remember which it was now, it does state that i used 1.09b so hopefully that will help track it down if the one from http://r4i-sdhc.com/downloade.asp doesn't work.

Hey
I'm really really stuck, hope someone can help. I've tried to do what you say but no luck.
I have a R4 SDHC upgrade (NDSL/NDS)
When I have tried to download the right kernal when i put it in my NDSL it says MENU? no matter how much I try.
The website I got it from told me to do the following..
Dear Customer:
First of all,we appreciate your feedback and your support.
Pls format the TF card and download 1.14b firmware from our website :http://www.r4i-sdhc.com/downloade.asp after you donwload ,you will get a RAR file . pls descompession the file and comes with : MOOSHEL2, R4 DAT ,R4 MENU . copy these file to the TF card and boot it up on console !
but when I go on that website it only has the download firmware for R4i ??
I have a NDSL not a DSi
hope someone can help been trying to figure it out for days !

I've tried the above and it still doesn't work. Would it not be just easier to get a new R4 card??? - have downloaded kernels about 10 times now and the same result
