I apologise if this problem has already been discussed under another thread(?) I have googled it to death and tried everything...it would seem. My last hope is you guys.

My wife bought two R4 SHDC cards (www.r4i-sdhc.com) and two 2Gb Sandisk micro SD Cards. She loaded the current software from the above site and transfered .nds files to the card using the usb card reader that came with the R4 cards.

Having transfered a number of files across both cards stopped working and the NDS gave 'demon0.sys error Please reset the system'.

Having finished arguing and blamining her(!!)I bought two new 2Gb SD cards and tried myself, only to get the same problem (humble pie?)

I now have four cards I can't use and also don't know what caused the problem. It appears that once I fill the card more than c.60% a transfer error occurs and then the above error arises on the DS.

I now cannot delete any files from the DS card. If I do, when I re-insert the card into my PC the files reappear!! The card seems to be locked (possibly why I get the demon0.sys error, if the DS can't write to the card?)

I have tried to reformat the card. Windows fails to format them and the Panasonic SD Formatter I have downloaded says the card is protected! I have tried it also in my digital camera with no joy.

I have checked the SD adapter lock and it's fine, tried it in the middle and even taped over it. This still won't work. I have tried it with admin rights and in safe mode. No joy.

I have tried different USB card readers and micro SD adapters and even a different PC, but still I can see the files and it would seem delete them...but for them to just come back, and still I can't reformat. Do I throw my cards away?

What caused my problem? Can a 2Gb micro SD card only be filled 60% before it is corrupted or locked (it had worked when I tested it at c.50% full)or is it that I have only used a standard micro SD card and not an SDHC memory card?

Sorry to waffle....but any help would certainly get me back in Mrs B's good books! Thanks.

If the digital camera won't recover it then the cards are gone.

Replace the card holder and adapter (for the computer) it is usually poor connection when loading information that blows the card.

With the new card, just add the system folders and 1 x nds file and see if you can get the card to run before adding all the other files

You only need to leave 1MB per NDS file added (this allows for the save file to be created

Thanks Kittyman. The camera recognises the card but wont format it, its says 'the card is full'.

Not sure if I used a different USB Card reader when transfering the second time (I have two different ones) but will invest in a new one never the less.
