r4i3d doesn't work

So I am a noob, and being the noob i am i updated my 3ds the second i got it. its on 3.0.06e and i have an r4i3d "NEW" from http://www.r4i3d.com/
i only put the firmware on no updates or anything. it was working, and now its not after the update
