r4i sdhc v1.4 upgrade revolution

Hi
I just got my r4i sdhc v1.4 upgrade revolution for dsi came in a red box with v1.4 in a yellow star it lists a www.r4-v.com website to get software for it. When I downloaded software from this site R4iEnglish v1.17b extracted and loaded into r4i card and into the dsi all I get is system error message. when dsi first turned on it does not have a r4i icon on the menu it just has a empty cartridge icon. Is there something I am missing or am I loading wrong software. If its software which software do I need.
