I was trying to update to the CIOS38 Rev 14 software, and it wouldnt let me. It said to remove previous CIOS in the instructions so i did and then it locked up i had to reset it and now i get the black screen of death.

I had preloader on it but i had just upgraded for the new guitar hero..and i tried to reinstall preloader but it wouldnt let me. The whole time its been modded its went to that preloader startup screen except the 5 min i was trying to add this new CIOS.

Ive heard and searched a lot on here for a definative answer and looked all over you tube and these forums. Seems like everybody considers bricking just losing a few functions and getting stuck at the health screen. This wii turns on then nothing happens at all on the tv. You can hear it try to read a DVD but the blue light doesnt come on the way it should when you eject it and it isnt as loud as it was when it used to read the games.

Is there anything i can do to at least get it back to showing something on the screen? would doing the whole gamecube controler do anything...i dont have one so if its not going to work i'd rather not drop 20 some bucks even for a used one.
I have looked and saw that most people said return it to nintendo but does anybody know what they do to it, so that we with have fully f'ed up can try something. I know why they call it a brick but i was just wondering since i did have preloader on there at some point if its possible to access it. THanks in advance for anyone trying to help.
