I want to update my Dsi I have the files but I'm not so sure if this is a good idea. Is There a way to unbrick a Dsi should I brick mine? My current firmware is 1.3U. I would also like to know if the dsi current firmware is 1.4U. Thanks for the guidance much appreciated!

Thanks I'll definitely try it out should I brick my Dsi! ^_^also is there a way to upgrade my r4i to match with the current system software on the dsi? I have an R4i upgrade revolution (That's What It Says On The Front Of The Card)and it was released somewhere around the same time the dsi came out.
UPDATE: I updated the firmware everything seems to work out well yet to try any games. Problem is whenever I try to start up the R4i card I get an error message telling to turn off the system and look at the manual to trouble shoot. Does anyone know what I can next?
hi i only have a ds lite and use a r4i card for some reason when i turned on my ds i had an error showing and r4 would not boot so i took all my games off and put them on my laptop then formatted my r4i card then put every thing back on so far so good. i have put a link on just incase you dont have the software.
Not to sound like a jerk but does anyone know anything about firmware 1.4 U and a r4i card that was made prior to this year? Real sorry if I'm being rash :-(

I'd like to know if you can use the R4i SDHC card that was made prior to 2010 with DSifirmware 1.4U. Thanks for the help ^_^ Oh and there is no V1.4 Sticker on it. Thanks Again! ^_^
Sorry if this question has been asked or if I seem unsure, but I'm writing for help with this same issue on behalf of my friend. we both have dsi systems. She accidentally upgraded her dsi to ver 1.4.1u, I have ver 1.4 and have not messed my dsi up.
I want to help her fix her system and am wondering if I will mess my system up by putting in her r4i gold card into my dsi (i have one too) and try to use a kernal patch update through my dsi, then replace her card with the updated r4i card? I'd put her card into my system because her dsi gets the error message to power it off when accessing the card.

I am not familiar with R4i gold .
Your dsi would be ok if you put her card into your dsi .

hi if you sign up to thid site yhey can help with dsi cards and about upgrading software.
DO NOT UPDATE YOUR DSI TO 1.4.1
Nintendo has just blocked flashards on the DSi again with the release of firmware update 1.4.1.
Not all flashcards have been affected though.
