im sorry i have to agree i haven't had to patch any of my games on mine and i use mine with a dsi xl no issues

It uses famous wood firmware,with a quicker updating . With r4i gold 3ds, you can play almost all latest nds games. Maybe as you knew, 3ds firmware has been updated to V6.2.0-12,yet, r4i gold 3ds can directly work on it, you can buy preflashed r4i gold 3ds from : http://www.modchipfactory.com/wood-r4i-...s-lite-p-1.html ,so you dont need any updating yourself.
