Call me stupid if you must!

I've DL something from a private tracker that's 20GB roughly, now in my upload section in utorrent it says I've upped 8.5GB but on the website I originally DL from it says I've only upped 800MB, there is only the private tracker from said website in the torrent properties window.

Why is this? & where has the other 7.7GB gone?

Thanks for any answers & again sorry if its a blindingly simple answer!

You might have been ripped off but I suspect you can thank your client for cleaning up your down loads. Along with blocking your port ect the nasty critters sponsored by the cyber police will slip crap into your down loads trying to make them worthless. Quality clients will check your downloads for correctness periodically. They move the crap to a separate file. I suspect it gets over written during each crap purge. A 20 g target would be prime for these apps.

Another thing to consider is your client. A few years back, utorrent would register complete D/L but not U/L amounts but only if utorrent wasn't shut down until all U/L was updated at the site. On a site like Demonoid that updates every 24 hours no U/L registered, definitely a ratio killer but a client change fixed all. Congrats Mez on your Addict status.
