adding subtitles to a .TS file and convert to BDR?

Hi guys I have a .ts video, that does not have any subtitles. I do have the original standard dvd. Could I rip the subs from the dvd and add them to the .ts file with tsmuxer and output it as a bd-r? What program should I use to rip the subs? And what other info should I know about timing of the subs. I'm assuming that since the video is the same it should not be too difficult to line them up in sync properly. Let me know, thanks
