Yes, the backup will be exactly the same as the original blu-ray. Be sure that your blu-ray device is capable of copying hte content you wish to copy. If you intend to copy copyrighted media like movies or games then many of these devices are have some code that prevent them from being copied.
If you use a device that is connected to a computer then you can find software that can bypass such restrictions. Example: I recently bought Carol Burnett on Blu-ray but I was un-able to copy them due to some code on the blu-rays.
Then I inserted the blu-ray into my computer and with a dvd copying software I was able to copy teh blu-ray with no problem.
Be sure to test the blu-ray copyong software before you buy it because some softwares do not allow copying copyrighted material at all.
You can google for "bluray copy software" or try blue cloner or try Nero.
