Hello all. I'm ripping my Avatar BD so that I can stream the media throughout the house, and have encountered a problem that I cannot fix. I have searched and searched for something to answer my question, but no luck. So here goes.
When watching the movie from the BD, with no subtitles selected, subtitles appear on the screen when someone is speaking the Navi language so that you can see the English translation. These subtitles only occur when Navi is being spoken. Using numerous programs (TsMuxer, AnyDVD HD, DVD Fab Decryptor, etc.) I have ripped the movie into both .m2ts and .ts formats. To date I cannot get a rip that shows these specific subtitles on the screen during playback. I'm playing the rips back on my computer and streaming them to my NetGear Entertainment units. These periodic language translations subtitles do not appear on either hardware.
Is it the rip, or is it the H/W that is playing back the .m2ts and .ts containers? I have tried ripping and forcing the English subtitles, but them I get them all. This I do not want. These particular subtitles (I'm assuming they're subtitles) appear during playback of the actual BD even when no subtitles are selected. Can someone help me with ripping the movie so that these certain subtitles appear? At this point, I've tried numerous methods described on the Internet, but none address this problem.
Help Please?????

I hope I understood you. Have you tried streaming the origanal BD to see if its a H/W issue. Thats one way of checking that issue. Next do you have a stand alone unit or ps3 to try your disc on? That would help to answer if you in fact have the subtitle in question muxed in your project.
Now that being said, If I understand right you want the navi translation into english subtitle but not the the english subtitle itself. This might be a problem in that the navi translation might be tied into the chosen languge subtitle. meaning that you can chose spanish subtitle and when the navi speak it would also be in spanish etc etc. So if you leave the the subtitles out you dont have the navi translation. Canyou not turn thr subtitles off? I can on my backed up copy. I always add the subtitles back cause I play my flicks on all kinds of devices and some of them as very poor volume. I.E my Dell laptop and BB cell phone. Let us know how its going.

Based on playing the original BD, the Navi translation is not tied to the selection of subtitles. When I watch the original BD on my BD player, the subtitle selection is set to "None". In this setting the Navi-to-english translation is shown on the screen, but no other subtitles are displayed. I have not tried streaming the original BD to my media player. I've never tried that for any streaming. I always stream the ripped files from my NAS. I have played the original BD on my computer and everything is as it should be. With respect to the muxed project, the translation is not present when I play back the project on my computer or my media player.

I had to down load them in a srt format.Google, "Avatar navi subs" and go through the page I used the CBGB ones.Download them and just put them in the same folder as the stream is in,you know BDMV,Stream.Your player should find them when you put a check by them.mpc-hc does, power dvd 10 does.

It is tied to the subtitles. If you choose the spa subtitle for example the navi translation is in spa. On my burned copy you have to choose a languge to have the navi translation also. If you demux the subtitles out of the stream you dont have the navi translation at all. That clearly shows the navi translation is in w/ the subtitles. Like I said earlier if you want to spend the time you might beable to break the subs down and just leave the navi in tact. Its not worth it to me. Sorry I cant be more help to you.
