Hi,

New here...please be gentle :)

I'm a bluray and home theatre junkie.
I love my home theatre.
I'm running a Windows 7 based HTPC.
Recently however, I have discovered the beauty that is Linux.
You know how they say "Once you go black you never go back"...well I'm feeling that way with Linux.
I have several PC's and laptops in my house and they all run Linux now...windows be gone!
The only one I haven't changed over yet is my HTPC.
I want to run MythTV on it....but I have discovered there is no Bluray support!
Scandalous!

Anyway...I have searched all over the internet and I cannot find a way to be able to put in my BD movie and play it under a Lunix OS.
There are ways to convert my BD movie using MakeMKV. That's not good enough for me...well for me it is OK, but the wife wants ease of use, hence the Windows 7 HTPC.
I have also found a way to use MakeMKV and 'stream' it using VLC. That still won't cut it with the wife.
I need native playback.

So, after all that....do we have any Liunx experts here that can point me in the right direction?
I understand it is because of encryption and the DRM beast....but there must be a way!
Or atleast a light at the end of the tunnel?

doubt it, Sony's to scared to release HDCP and BD+ on Linux. Linux is the greatest OS in the world because its stable, its fast, and it doesn't Hide Anything.
