Burn DVD files to Blu Ray discs?

Does anyone know if there's a way to take several DVD image files or folders and burn them onto a BD-RE disc, and then be able to play them from a stand alone Blu-ray player? To be more specific, is there a way to create kind of a "library" of several SD discs on a Blu-ray disc without having to convert them to an HD format?
