i was thinking about buying a blu ray player with an sd card slot, can i play blu ray movies ripped off a disc from the memory card? if anyone could help i would like taht very much thank you

Probably not. Im not 100% sure, but i think the best you can hope for is Xvid/Divx playback from the SD card. Post the model you are refering to, and i or someone else can give you %100 answer.
