i am looking into getting a blu-ray player for the main floor tv of my house.

the problem i face is the lack of room for such a player to be used.

i have very minimal space on the sides of my tv as it is recessed into the wall in a hole made by the previous home owners.

can blu-ray players be used on their sides? If not what other options do i have?

I hope your in the US or you can order online....COSTCO has the the SONY BDP-BX2 for $109.99 (before tax). Comes with HDMI cable and half size back lit remote. Nice I picked 1 up yesterday. As for playing on it's side. I would guess so though would not suggest it.

i saw that one as well. i also saw that samsung has a 1.5" thick one that is wall mountable. the samsung would be perfect but i think the ir reciever for the remote would be blocked. what kind of angle and range will those remotes work at?
