newbie question burning blu ray

Hello everyone........just a general question
I just became involved in burning my personnel shows from photodex to an blu ray format (its called a avchd format I think) on a reg dvd disc and the results were quite good. So I would like to get a internal blu ray burner and move on to the big time and burn actual blu ray format on a blu ray disk
My question would be is; what software is recommended to burn to a bd disc..........can i use imgburn (2.5.0) or would a roxio or nero software be more applicable....I would like to use imgburn as I think its great software..........
