Playing m2ts files on HDTV receiver system

I have m2ts files that i want to watch in full hd on my hdtv receiver system. If i get a laptop with an hdmi output, how can I watch my m2ts files on my hdtv in its full hd video and audio.

You need to find out if your hdtv receiver is capable of receiving multi-channel PCM audio over HDMI inputs, or can decode the audio itself. Check the user manual.

Yes my receiver can receive multi-channel PCM audio over HDMI inputs. What is next to play the m2ts? do i just plug my hdmi from my laptop to the reciever, or is it more complicated than that.
