All,

I currently have the ability (as I am sure a lot of you do) of ripping a DVD, converting it to a single .VOB file using DVDshrink, renaming that file to .MPG and moving it to my TiVO to play. Works like a charm.

I would like to do the same thing with Blu-Ray. Question is - does it work the same? i.e. if I rip the Blu-Ray to my hard drive, does it create the .VOB files like a normal DVD (only larger obviously) and if I create a single VOB and then rename to .MPG, will my TiVO HD play it and have the same quality as the original Blu-Ray? Before I spend the money on a Blu-Ray burner (vs a Blu-Ray ROM) I wanted to at least check to see if someone had done it.

Thanks,

dave
