I have a Samsung LN46B630 and it's supposed to be 120 Hz. It has something called Auto Motion Plus 120 Hz, which has two settings...blur reduction and judder reduction. If these are turned off does it still display in 120 Hz? And if so how come the info button always says 60 Hz never 120 Hz, even if the auto motion plus is turned on?

My brother bought the same TV and we were trying to figure it out, he mainly uses it for gaming so its important to get the refresh rate highest as possible.

The processor on the Samsung 120Hz units will always display at their respective Hz. Even when the signal is only being transmitted at 60Hz, it will always display at 120Hz since the processor is always upconverting the signal. Activating the Auto Motion Plus feature will allow for judder reduction and blurring reduction, depending on what settings you activate. This will enhance your 120Hz viewing.

The reason you are seeing the 60Hz in the info is because the TV only accepts a 60Hz and lower signal (due to FCC regulations, there are no consumer level devices that transmit at over 60Hz, except for some 3D devices). Meaning that the 60Hz you are seeing is the signals actual Hz and not the screen?s Hz. Again, your TV is always upconverting the image to 120Hz, but can only accept a 60Hz signal, which is the standard Hz all US signals are transmitted at.
