Trouble recording on the PSP, Possible methods?

I need to record a few things from my psp, and have tried remotejoy lite, however, it is pretty laggy and it makes the videos difficult to watch. I originally thought it was the psp 1000 not being designed for recording due to the low amount of ram, etc, but the problems remain with my 2000.

My computer is pretty modern, with a E8400 Core2duo, 4gb of ram, and an ATI radeon HD4850, but I just can't seem to get a decent frame rate when recording. I am using windows 7 64 bit, which could be a problem I guess?

However, I see plenty of psp videos on youtube that are silky smooth and suffer from none of these problems I'm facing. I have heard of using component cables and the like, but would I need to go to the bother of hooking up a decent camera and other such things?

If it's possible to record the capture straight to the psp, It would be good enough for me, even if I need a certain kind of cable.

Would appreciate some advice from anyone with knowledge on the subject.
