Which emu for Terranigma?

I got my PSP 3000 running with TN-C just a little while ago, thought I would try a game I missed when I was a kid, Terranigma, with the SNES emu Snes9xTYL. Every time a text bubble comes up the music starts going really slow, the world map makes things crawl, and I tested it in zsnes, works fine. I've been playing with the settings for hours with no luck. Does anyone know which emu I should be using to play this game, or what setting I should use so it doesn't slow down so much?
