To be fair, there's a lot to like about RAID. If I had 20 grand, I'd sure as hell employ it.

In order to get hold of 20 of those SSD beauties I might have to contemplate in robbing a bank.

Hmmm.....

Better make it a big bank...between the drives and the raid card, your looking at $17,000.

BTW...to me, this is not "the ultimate dream pc" it is just a very fast gaming-only PC, with less than 4TB of storage and no water/phase change cooling. My "Ultimate Dream PC" would be bigger than deep blue, and the CPU cooler would get within ten degrees of making Bose?Einstein condensates...and there would be petabytes of storage.

Actually, since OS loading is mainly drivers, you'd barely notice the difference from one SSD, sadly.

6 monitors, one gaming surface, that's about it, no issues, no questions. Supposedly. Essentially before with two monitors, the GPU had to have enough ports, the game had to recognise two monitors being present, etc. etc. With eyefinity, plug three 30" monitors in and as far as the graphics card is concerned all you did was plug in one 73" 5120x4800 or 7680x3200 monitor.

Yeah, I remember when my mate Nick turned his 2407FPW portrait and ran Stalker at 1200x1920 - that was weird, but kind of cool :P

So you can do it with just one monitor too? might give it a try. The Eyeinfinity looks great vertically though.. I'd prefer it over the standard 3 monitors (for some games, not all)

Eyefinity is nothing new in itself, multi-monitor gaming worked before it existed, but eyefinity makes it a hell of a lot easier, by removing the software-side limitation on how many screens you can connect.

If we are gonna dream why not add this to the scenario:

Actualy, that part would be a severe downgrade from the 24 SSDs.

Here is an upgrade that might double the total cost:
