Alright, here we go, I've decided I need a new computer simply because the one I have is outdated and old and just isnt getting the job done. I wanna start fresh with a computer that can be upgraded in the future but still kick ass in the present. It's going to be a PC I use for 3ds max as I do a lot of animating for school, side jobs etc. Also I do lots of video editing and perhaps having it run a couple of high end games would be nice. I've compiled together a bunch of system pieces that I believe will make a good system, the price being about $912.00 at DirectCanada.com I live in Ontario and this is the cheapest site I've seen for computers that ship to me free. Alos better than what is around my area. If you've got better suggestions for me I wouldn't mind going a little higher than what I got now, but I'd say my budget is prolly gunna cap at about $950. Much regards for all your help everyone. Here's what I've picked out right now anyways.

Motherboard: MSI P55-GD65 ATX LGA1156 P55 DDR3 CrossFire SLI 2PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 PCI-E4 2PCI eSATA GBLAN Motherboard $163.65

Optional PSU: Corsair TX750W 750-Watt Power Supply $110.40 (I dunno what would be better really?)

Case: Enermax ECA3162 Phoenix Neo Black ATX Case 5X5.25" 1X3.5" 4X3.5INT Front USB Audio

RAM: currently i own 2GB of Kingston PC2 -5300 CL5 240 - Pin DIMM which im not sure will be compatible?

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 250GB 3.5IN Hard Drive SATA 7200RPM 8MB OEM $42.09

DVD Drive: Lg GH22NS50 Black 22X Sata Dvd Writer Oem $22.99

Alright so I added some RAM cause i realized mine was DDR2

4G PC3-10666 4GB 2X2GB DDR3-1333 CL9 240PIN DIMM Memory Kit $102.68

but that puts me at over $1000 and I dunno if I wanna spend that much, wheres a smart place to downgrade now and shave off some dollars?

Have you check newegg.ca ? i live in ontario as well and im waiting on a couple stick of ram to match the one i already have (Patriot Dual Channel 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz)

Just to give you an idea

Newegg=54.99
Direct canada=56.21
Tiger direct=87.99 you might get away with free shipping here if order is over 100$ and under 20lbs

And all the shipping cost seem to be around the same everywhere

So for a cheap place to shop id say newegg is your best bet

Motherboard: 8/10 - Good quality board, but weak for overclocking due to the use of a Foxconn CPU Socket
CPU: 10/10
GPU: 3/10 - GTX260s are horrifically overpriced due to being outdated.
PSU: 4/10 - Reasaonable brand, but massively overkill - 6/10 for the optional for being more reasonable and a better brand, but still overkill.
Case: 5/10 - Mediocre quality and design, there are better cases for the price.
RAM: Current RAM is not compatible. Recommend the use of Corsair XMS3 as replacement.
HDD: 4/10 - 7200.12 drives have been unreliable in the past, I don't trust them. Stick with a WD Caviar Blue/Black.
DVD: 10/10

Agreed on using Newegg.ca over other canadian sites.
