EVGA 015-P3-1580-AR GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) 1536MB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16

Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

All of this coming from Newegg, of course. Mostly this computer will be used for gaming and for streaming said gaming. I assume the hardware would be more than sufficient for playing and streaming on high settings, but I wanted to confirm there were no descrepencies/compatibility issues before I went and bought 1800 worth of stuff.

The GTX580 is a waste. Go with a Radeon HD7950/7970 instead, or if you must have nvidia, perhaps two GTX570s. The GTX580 is so horrendously expensive for what you get.

You have decent gear but I'd move to an ASUS Z68 Motherboard (or equivalent). If you go with that Chipset you can add a 64 Gig SSD. The Z68 has Intel® Smart Response Technology which allows the motherboard to use the SSD to Cache programs (Like Games!!) giving you almost SSD performance when playing games.

I recently put together a Gamer Box for my son with an Asus P8Z68 using an SSD in this mode and the performance is simple awesome. Add this to your setup and you can play everything at full settings.

Enjoy!

(How can I still be a Newbie. I joined this Board Monday 23 February 2004!!)
