ok im trying to decide between the to pcs. i need to know if the 50 xtra dollars is woth getting the HP-ENVY-h8-1400z. i also have a few questions about the Integrated Intel(R) HD Graphics [DVI-D & DVI-D, DX 10.1] on the HP-Pavilion-p7-1420t vs the
1GB AMD Radeon HD 7450 [DVI, HDMI, VGA adapter]on the HP-ENVY-h8-1400z. and the HP-ENVY-h8-1400z has 4 DIMM vs the 2 DMIMM ON THE HP-Pavilion-p7-1420t im not sure what DIMM means what does it do for your pc. also im guessing the AMD FX-6120 six-core processor [3.6GHz, 6MB L2/8MB L3 Cache]on the HP-ENVY-h8-1400z is better than the 3rd Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3330 quad-core processor [3.0GHz, 6MB Shared Cache] on the HP-Pavilion-p7-1420t?
In which case, yes, the ENVY looks better value for money. Quite evenly matched in terms of CPU, but the extra $50 is worth is for the dedicated graphics card and the more easily upgradeable RAM (which suggests a superior motherboard).
I would ask HP to sell you it with Windows 7 installed, though.
Because Windows 7 is still the best choice - Windows 8 will be entirely different from what you're used to, so I suggest that you do a little reading up and decide if it is for you beforehand.
