I recently had one of my Corsair Dominator DDR2 (TWIN2X4096-8500C5D G)modules stop working and had to RMA it.
Unfortunately corsair has discontinued it and will only replace it with XMS2 (TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX G)
How much of a difference would it make dropping from 1066mhz to 800mhz?
I don't know about overclocking RAM but would it be possible to over clock the XMS2 and reach about 1000mhz?

A consolation is that I could probably get them to send me 8 gigs of the XMS2 if I complain but how much would that really help?
