Ok so i just built a new pc and i have a p5n-d mb and a e8400 cpu but suprisingly my mb temps arent a problem its the cpu. I install asus probe II and its telling me my cpu is running at 63c but when i check realtemp it says im only running at 35ish on both cores, which should i beleive?

try a trial of everest or install speedfan. Realtemp only tells you your core temperatures (I think), the other programs are more comprehensive.
Also, a P5N-D... oh dear.

lol i know ive heard that its a bad mb but the mb temps are only running in the 30s which i think is good
I download everest and this is what it told me

There's a lot more to a motherboard than how cool it runs, and ironically, a lot of nforce chipsets actually lie about their temperature.

Well the temperatures are fine according to everest, but since it's an nforce, they will be wrong, so there isn't much to gain from looking at everest.

Your CPU temp is fine, there's nothing more you need to look at.

Unless you are either a hard core gamer or a serious overclocker then temps shouldnt matter too much. but rest assured that computers can have saveguards added to automatically shutdown to prevent temperature meltdown. Several applications can do this for you
