A friend has asked me to build them a computer on a budget of $400.
So far i have bought everything aside from the case and a HD, now $270 is gone.
What i need to do now most off all is find a case with a decent power supply for a Gigabyte mATX mobo cheap as the HD is going to cost me alot.
Does anybody here know where I could look?.
I have tried Ebay but shipping is in the 50 dollar range U.S. and most don't have a proper power supply.
Thanks in advance and sorry if this is in the wrong spot.
As far as I know, there is no such thing as a good cheap case that comes with a good power supply. Corsair makes the best power supplies by far, but they do not make cases. I generaly just buy the cheapest case that fits my needs from a local supplier, newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, etc... and buy a corsair power supply seperate. The 400W Corsair is $50, and a cheap yet sturdy case is around $30...leaving you $50 for a hard drive. You could also do a bit of dumpster diving and save the $30 (microATX has been around a lot longer than most microATX parts last, so used cases are plentiful)...leaving $80 for the hard drive.
Thanks, I was thinking I should buy the power supply and case separately so Iam going to look around. he has a case i could use but i think he's tired of looking at it.

If you have a dremel tool and some paint, you can change all that.
Pedantic I know, but Corsair actually do make cases. The only caveat is they're currently only high end offerings.
A Corsair 400W CX PSU is a solid buy and I'd recommend that. MicroATX cases are generally pretty bland, so you can probably get away with pretty much anything.
