Hey I need some helping narrowing down a laptop for a friend of mine. He is set on getting a laptop and not a desktop for gaming, I said I would help him pick one. So far I've narrowed it down to these two with a price budget of about $1000 :

did some checking as well and the asus card isnt near what the toshiba is.never gamed on the asus but played around with a friends with the i7 and god its fast.that having been said i would think the toshiba may just be the better machine from just a gaming aspect.i wonder if you could get that card tho in the asus.i could be offbase here,ddp has way more experience than me with laptops.truth be known i cant stand the damn things.lol

just going by the features & i haven't scrapped an asus laptop yet like i have with dell, acer, hp & toshiba.

good point,and like i say,maybe you can get upgraded video card for the asus.the asus the op has listed goes for between 700 to 1000 dollars cdn.with similar video cards.

No brainer here for me, Been a tech for 15 years, and this asus is much better here even with the video card, I must admit I am don't know that mush about this Video here. I have a Toshiba and several of the keys are coming off, Plus a few other things. I just got an Asus & Levono in a couple weeks ago, both are so much better built than the Toshiba. Plus the specs between these two above show that the Asus offers much more.
However I am not a gamer, so for you things may be very different.
