hi all, im currently on the hunt for a new gfx card to boost my old one.
im also on a budget and minimum price would be around £40 and max around £60 so can any please suggest to me some cards that would work and are compatiable with my system.
im not 2 clued up on things like this so all your advice is appreciated.
i have no idea what cards would and wouldnt work on my setup thus my reason for my topic.
im also play online games etc but im not classed as a gamer, just want something to make games run a little better.

my current specs are below along with the changes ive already done.

512MB DDR PC3200 RAM (2 memory slots. Max 2GB)**** Now 1.5Gig
Video Card SiS Mirage2 integrated graphics (128MB shared)**** Current card is now SAPPHIRE Radeon X1550 Series

also i came across these 2 so would these cards be suitable and make some difference to my machine's gfx overall.

Is your current system AGP or PCI express? That's not included in the specs, but you must have known in order to buy the correct X1550.

hi and thanx for the reply.

i just used Sisoft sandra software and got this from it so i pressume its AGP.

Video Adapter : SAPPHIRE Radeon X1550 Series (PS3.0, VS3.0 546MHz, 256MB 396MHz, AGP 3.00)

if you want i can take a digital photo with the cover off the tower if it helps.

Then none of the cards listed will work, as they are PCI Express.

thanx for the reply.
ill check the link out.
as you might of gathered my machine is a little ouf of date as ive had it around 7 years now, so far no major problems and does everything i need it to do, apart from the odd game or 2.

are there any good agp cards out there as my birthday is coming soon so i could get a descent one.

Unfortunately no, AGP Was obsoleted in 2004, and no high performance cards have been designed for it for years.

that card you showed me earlier.
is that the only one around i can check out.

as long as its better than the card i have now id be interested in checking it out

It's at least 4-5 times as powerful, I know that much.
There are other cards in that price range, but the HD4650 is the best you'll find.
