I'm going to do design work, so I need a better computer to help me do my job.
Would be better to choose a Mac, or customized PC?

A well built PC is more reliable, the high end is higher, and the price for any given performance level is lower. The only thing Apple offers is the apple logo...an you can print that out yourself if you want one.
