I've just built a new media center PC (specs below - already got plenty of criticism on the build, so please keep responses on point). The PC is connected via HDMI to an Onkyo receiver which is then connected via HDMI to a Panasonic projector which displays on a 110 inch screen.
I also use the receiver for my PS3 and digital cable box. When I am watching cable or playing PS3, the projector image fills the entire screen. However, when I switch to the PC, the image is smaller than the screen by about 3" all around.
The projector input is always the same (set to HDMI 1). I have tried changing the resolution on the PC but that doesn't help. Does anyone have any ideas why this may be? Thanks in advance for any help!
It's not the resolution of the videos as far as I can tell. The screen is smaller than the projection screen even when I am on the desktop, using Word, the internet, etc...
This is HDMI underscan, it happens by default with ATI graphics as I had the same issue with my TV. Go into Catalyst Control Center and enter the display properties page. Once you get there, there is an operation for overscan/underscan. Drag the slider to overscan a little, and the image should eventually be the correct size.
