I manage a small software company who purchases PC components and builds systems to resell with our own customer operating systems for use in a retail environment.
In prospective, we are a relatively small company with fewer than 10 employees and have sales slightly under a million a year.
We have always been using Newegg for our smaller non-distributor level orders and because of the last dozen or so failed promises on neweggs behalf we have made the executive decision to seek other vendors for our hardware.
I will spare you all the details of the broken love affair with NewEgg but I'll leave it at this. Our company has ordered a million+ in hardware from them over the last 6 years and they have lost us as a customer forever because of lies and false promises. That should tell you all you need to know.
So the root of my inquiry to all of you masters of tech who reside on here..
Where can we go, as a small company who cannot take hits, to buy hardware weekly from a trusted, reliable and competitive alternative to NE?

I tend to hear of very few complaints about newegg. If you want an alternative, consider buy.com, zipzoomfly.com and ncixus.com. I would advise against TigerDirect as I hear of far more issues from them than newegg.

Everyone gets complaints once in a while. Have you tried contacting newegg support? If the problem is their fault, they will usualy go above and beyond to fix it. Most of the newegg complaints I hear are not newegg's fault, but rather the hardware manufacturer's fault (for example: "Newegg sucks, my new MSI mainboard is DOA") Newegg carries just about every brand, and most of those brands make terrible products...thus the high rate of complaints.
i must say i have been using tigerdirect for over 8 years now and have never had a single problem. their prices and selection and comparable to newegg, and the shipping is super fast. i know newegg is the best, but tigerdirect comes in close second. like i said, i've never had a single issue with them.
The only issues I have had with newegg are with the products they carry...many of them are total junk, and the restocking+return shipping fees are oftem more than the component is worth. If you stick with quality merchandise this is not a big issue, but I am guessing your company is not buying quality parts (guess based on the custom-os retail machines I have seen inside of).
So, if you want to use $20 mainboards, you should buy localy to save all the return shipping on the 50% of them that have problems.
