Guys,

Just after some advice..

I have just bought the following kit (Based on the advice I have recieved from this forum) and am looking for a Graphics card to accompany - I have around £150 to spend

Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L - Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo 6300 - Processor
Arctic Cooling Freezer pro AC FRZ 7P - Heatsink
4gb Corsair TWINX XMS DDR2 PC2-6400 - Memory
Corsair CMPSU-450VXUK 450W - PSU
Scythe S Flex SFF21F 120mm - Rear Case Fan
21" Dell - Clear View TFT Monitor.

This is all housed in a Coolermaster Cebturion RC-532 case

I am looking for a Card that will allow me to play any new games on decent settings and to MAX out Unreal Tournament 3 and if possible play Crysis on decent settings.
Not sure whether to go for NVIDIA or ATI and was looking at maybe a HD4870 or a GPX 260.

As alwaysI appreciate the help and any advice

Gav

Why did you buy the power supply before the graphics card? The VX450 can handle an HD4890 (which is what you should buy for £150) but you will need to use an adapter to do it, which is a little bit on the risky side.
Also, I think you bought a Pentium Dual Core E6300, not a Core 2 Duo E6300 - the Pentium chip is actually better in this instance.

Thanks for the advice Sam, but the budget didnt come in at quite £150

So I have ordered the XFX HD4870 1gb XXX instead.

From the reviews it looks like a decent card.

What do you think of the system so far and should it be able to play some newer games at fairly high res on a 22" monitor ?

A 4870 for a 22" will be fine.
