I'm thinking about buying this off of craigslist for $45 to build a mid-range gaming computer. Problem is I don't know a lot about it so with your help i'm hoping to complete this by the end of the year.
So this guy is selling this for $45:
-EarthWatts 380w Power Supply, ATX v2.2, w Universal Input and Active PFC.
-ATX Mini Tower , with 8 drive bays, Ext = 3 x 5.25 Inches,External 2x 3.5 Inches, Internal 3x 3.5 Inches
-Cooling system: 1 rear 120mm TriCool exhaust fan(standard), 1 (optional) front 80mm fan mount
-Top I/O Power and reset button, 2 x USB2.0, with Audio In and Out, AC'97 and HD compatable.
-Motherboard, compatable with Mini-ITX, microATX and Standard ATX, with room for 7 expansion slots.
So that I think pretty much covers the case, power,and cooling situation..Now on to the guts of the rig, how much more would I need to shell out to make this a good gaming computer and what should go inside of it?
I probably won't be playing graphic heavy games like Crysis or anything, just future games like Guild Wars 2 or Diablo 3.
If you're asking what kind of equipment i'm looking for I don't know which CPU or Motherboard to get, but in terms of video card just a mid range under $100 one would be great that could handle future games ok..RAM 2-4gb would be fine..and a 120gb hard drive should be sufficient.
I asked him for more details on the things that he is selling and he replied:
"I have for sale an Antec case that comes with a 380W power supply and one 120mm fan already installed. The power supply and fan were installed by the manufacturer. I do have two additional 80mm Antec case fans that are included that will fit in this case. The fans are new and have never been used. There is no motherboard included.
"Motherboard, compatable with Mini-ITX, microATX and Standard ATX, with room for 7 expansion slots. " This is just to let you know what size motherboards will fit in this case"
