Hey there AD!

I was doing some research to pick a new 1 TB HDD to upgrade my current computer for under 100 dollars, and I was looking for some suggestions. I guess for a large part, they are all remarkably similar, and it simply boils down to brand loyalty/whats worked for you, but I wanted to get some opinions first. Also, i wanted to make sure a new HDD wouldn't offer compatibility issues with the one i bought a year ago (see below...i don't see why it would).

THANKS!

Current HDD that i plan to make as my secondary

With HDD's it tends to be nothing more then preference. For example I use and would recommend Samsung but that's because I've bought several Samsung hard drives and had no problems with them although if I'd of initially bought a Western Digital drive the same could probably be said and I'd recommend them instead.

You won't have any compatability problems with your other drive and as your first is SATA I assume that you have a SATA motherboard meaning there's no trouble there.

I could put something funny here but I cant be arsed. Now GO AWAY!

no compatibility issues with HDDs normally. I'd avoid Samsung 1TB drives, they had some serious issues early in life. Handily, WD's best 1TB drive is $99.99

like sammorris said when in comes to HDs its better to spend a few extra bucks and get a good one, and not buy based on the cheapest price. Western Digital makes very good reliable drives.
