Nah they shouldn't. The performance of that cooler is exceptional, but when not pre-applied to cards, it has only a 20% success rate of not destroying the card. The vast majority of Accelero owners have destroyed their graphics card trying to install one of those coolers (and not just the 5970 version either, the 4870X2 version was almost as bad, and I used the S1 Rev2 on my 3870 and destroyed that). I don't relish the prospect of the same happening to people's CPUs.

Wow...that is terrible! PS3 reflows have higher success rates! I know that sometimes you might have to move a few caps to the back of a video card to mount a new cooler...is that what is causing everyone so much trouble?

Nah, with my S1, it crushed the die, and with the 5970 it shorts out the DVI port connectors. Not sure what the issue with the 4870X2 version was, either way it was bad enough for me not to want to risk it!
